Welding Fume

Welding Fume

Welding fume is produced when metals are heated above their melting point, vaporise and condense into fumes. The fume given off by welding contains a varying mixture of gases and very fine particles which if inhaled can cause ill health. In 2018 welding fume was classified as a carcinogen (a substance capable of causing cancer).
