Wood Dust

Wood Dust

Wood dust is produced whenever wood or its products are machined or sanded. Breathing in fine wood dust can lead to a range of respirable diseases including occupational asthma. Exposure can occur in a range of industries including construction, furniture and joinery. Carpenters and joiners are four times more likely to develop asthma compared with other UK workers.
