Control Measures

Organisation change, whether large or small, should be appropriately managed and communicated effectively.

Some simple guidelines in relation to the management of change are outlined below. More detailed guidance in relation to possible solutions are available within the Change Prompt Card.

DO

  • Explain what the organisation wants to achieve and why it is essential that the change(s) takes place.
  • Consult with staff at an early stage, and throughout the change process.
  • Involve your staff in the planning process so that they understand how their work fits in.
  • Explain timescales and how changes will impact on employees.


DON’T

  • Delay communicating new developments.
  • Underestimate the effects of minor changes.
