Metal Working Fluids (MWFs), also known as suds, coolant, slurry or soap, are used when machining metal to provide lubrication and cooling. They improve machining performance and aid the removal of debris, swarf and fine metal particles.
Workers exposed to MWF mist and vapour have an increased risk of developing serious respiratory conditions.
